Where People Care

Worship!

While WPC is active 7 days a week, Sunday morning is when the WPC family comes together to worship, learn, and greet one another.

Join us for a TRADITIONAL Celebration, Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
Our 9:00a service is traditional in form and style. We emphasize the strength of our music ministry by featuring the gifts of our members and guests. The Elders of the church call us into worship, lead us in our confession of sins, assure us of God's pardon, and celebrate with us as we pass the peace of Christ.

...Many gather in the Sanctuary for our Traditional Worship Service, at which organist Verdeen Strain leads the congregation in singing from our Hymnal. A Lay Leader calls the congregation to worship with traditional call and response liturgies.

Our music includes hymns of the past as well as songs written today.  A 25-rank Reuter pipe organ provides accompaniment for the singing, played by the director of music--Verdeen Strain--or the assistant organist--Don Hill. A 26-voice choir (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) sings every Sunday with occasional handbells, brass and children's choir participation.
At 10:00 a.m. Fellowship

Everyone gathers in Fellowship Hall for coffee and conversation.
Our Deacons host a time of fellowship between the 9:00 am Traditional Celebration and the 10:30 am Contemporary Celebration. As members visit with long-time friends, welcome visitors and new members, the Deacons serve coffee, juice, and assorted refreshments.

Join us for a CONTEMPORARY Celebration, Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

Our Contemporary Celebration is the result of many dreams of many members of WPC. Our style is casual. Our music is contemporary.

Our aim is to draw near to our friends and family in fellowship and draw nearer still to God in worship.

With the exception of the sermons, C2 is 100% lay led. We have teams of worship planners that work weeks and even months in advance to prepare a service. We have a praise team that prepares and rehearses weekly. We have multi-media specialists who prepare Powerpoint presentations and digital videos and another team that runs the sound board and audio-visual presentations.

More important than the nuts-n-bolts of the service, is the joy and fellowship we experience in celebrating God each week. To get a feel for this service, browse our samples. Then, when you are ready, join us some Sunday morning. We look forward to celebrating our life together with you.

...Many gather in the Sanctuary for our Contemporary Celebration (C2), at which our praise band, led by Chris Gloff, leads the congregation in singing contemporary Christian songs. While the sermon is the same as the 9:00a service, this worship experience makes use of images, art, dance, and drama.

...Others gather for the Adult Enrichment hour, which features guest lecturers from local universities and seminaries.

EVERYONE WELCOME!
