Our Purpose - The purpose of Youth Ministry at Westminster is to create a youth community that is actively seeking, receiving and manifesting the Kingdom of God. Partnering with parents, we are in the "disciple development" business. We want to deepen our relationship with God as we care for one another and share community. We will learn how to share the Good News while serving others and encourage spiritual maturity through continued learning.
What do we talk about? - Anything and everything
We study the bible and its historical context and then see how it continues to connect to our lives.
When do we meet? - Middle School, we call ourselves “Middlers”, (grades 6-8) and High School students have two opportunities each week for fellowship, learning and fun.
Disciples With Donuts is our Sunday morning hour of fellowship, discussion and learning for Middlers at 9:00 am in the Middler Room.
Pizza With A Purpose (Middlers) meets from September - May on Wednesdays at 4:30 pm in the Middler Room for pizza and discussion. We then have open gym or volleyball from 5:30 - 7:00 pm in South Hall.
Every Sunday morning High School youth meet together in the High School Room to explore the bible, watch and discuss great films and deepen relationships with God and each other.
The High School Youth Group meets every Thursday (September - May) in South Hall for activities at 5:30 pm and then in the High School room at 7:00pm for food & fellowship. This is their chance to reconnect midweek, share a meal, talk about what's going on in their lives and how it relates to their walk with God.
We have many more activities that occur throughout the year, including: summer mission trips, car wash fundraisers, making apple pies for shut-ins, preparing meals for homeless shelters, ski trips, hosting red cross blood drives, ice-skating in Chicago’s Millenium Park, and much more.
