An update from Pastor Quincy…

I wanted to give you a few updates on where we are with things.  Session and the pastors met via Zoom Sunday evening to discuss dates and ways to possibly open the church.  As you can imagine, there are a lot of moving parts and a lot of things to consider.  Mainly, two important actions were taken:  The first is to have the church building remain closed through May and continue to worship online unless something significantly changes.  The second is that a task force comprised of members of our congregation who are in the medical field, leaders of key volunteer ministries, and staff were appointed to develop an action plan with a timeline of when/how to open and what safety precautions should be taken as we do open.  They are going to report back to Session in about 2 weeks with their recommendations for Session to take action on.

We are absolutely committed to the safety and health of our church family and though we long to be back together in person, we want to make sure that we are doing so in a way that keeps everyone – especially our most vulnerable safe and healthy.   For now and no matter when we open, we want to stress to you that if you are not feeling well, please stay at home.  If you are in the high risk demographic, please stay at home.  For now, we are trying to minimize who comes into the church to keep you and our staff who are doing our best to keep the church running smoothly healthy and safe.  We miss you all terribly, but for now we feel it’s best for you to not come to the building.

We are working our best with the information we have to formulate a plan to open back up the building but it’s still a work in progress and the situation could change at any time.  We are monitoring it very closely.  If you have questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at quincy@wpcmunster.org and I will do my best to get back to you as quickly as I can.

With Much Love,

Pastor Quincy
